Week Four
The Candle of Love (small white votive)
Scripture
- Micah 5:2-4 (NLT):But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah, are only a small village among all the people of Judah. Yet a ruler of Israel will come from you, one whose origins are from the distant past. The people of Israel will be abandoned to their enemies until the woman in labor gives birth. Then at last his fellow countrymen will return from exile to their own land. And he will stand to lead his flock with the LORD’s strength, in the majesty of the name of the LORD his God. Then his people will live there undisturbed, for he will be highly honored around the world.
- John 3:16-17 (NLT):For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.
Explanation for Kids
- This candle represents Love. God showed us his great love by sending Jesus to be with us. We light this candle to remember God’s love and to think about how we can share love with others, especially during this season.
